Grayland with Kirsten

My girlfriend Kirsten and I spend Memorial Day weekend down in Grayland in a little cottage near the beach. It was a nice get away from the city and we got to spend some quality time with my Mom, Aunt Becky and Uncle Johnny. It was a blast. The first day their was sunny and a warm 70+ degrees. It was the first time I could remember it being sunny at the beach here. That day we walked the beach for about an hour taking pictures. Then we met up with Uncle Johnny and had a few drinks before hitting up the "Local" bar. The food was good and the drinks were better, just as the women :-). The rest of the weekend we spent just relaxing and visiting family. We even drove over to Westport for a little while Sunday and walked through all the stores. Then on our last morning their Uncle Johnny took us out to a great breakfast/lunch spot in town. They had the best fish & chips I've ever had. We You can see the pictures here.

First Mountain Biking Trip

Me and Chris went down to Maple Valley for mountain biking trip with a few friends from work. It was a blast to finally get to do some real mountain biking. The weather was fair, with only slight rain. The trails where fun though I had to walk up a few hills since I'm not in good shape yet. The only downside of the trip was that my ass is sore as $%#@ now! But I'm sure I will be ready to do it all over again next weekend.

New Mountain Bike

I finally recieved my new mountain bike I purchased last week. It is a Gary Fisher Tassajara Disc that I got from Gerk's Alpine Hut in Redmond, WA. It wasn't until I purchased the bike that I found out I knew the owner of the store. Gerk plays on my BeerNuts softball team. Now that me, Chris and Adam all have bike we can now start doing something other than play baseball all summer!

Requetball after knee surgery

Today I played some raquetball with a friend. Since my knee help up last week playing tennis twice I thought it would be good to see how it reacts to raquetball. It was only the second time in my life that I've played raquetball but it was a blast. We played for two hours and I was exhausted. My knee held up pretty well, though I'm still favoriting it a bit. Again I got my ass kicked, but it was a blast playing. Since my doctor doesn't want me to be playing basketball, I guess this will be a good substitute.

Tennis anyone?

I played tennis for the first time since my knee surgery last April. Chris and I played for an hour and a half. I favored my knee a lot and actually put more stain on my good knee than I wanted to. I didn't have any pain, but I think it was because I haven't done any real sports activities since the surgery. It's going to take me a little while to put trust back into my bad knee. Anyways, Chris kicked my ass, but once I get back into shape watch out!
